Xà lách frise mua về nhặt sạch, loại bỏ chỗ úa, rửa sạch. Sau đó thái thành những khúc ngắn 2-3cm. Củ cải đỏ không cần gọt vỏ, đem rửa thật sạch rồi thái thành những lát mỏng theo chiều ngang.
