Dưa hấu thái miếng vuông nhỏ, chanh vắt lấy nước cốt. Cho nước và đường vào nồi, vừa đun vừa khuấy đều cho đến khi sôi khoảng 2-3 phút rồi để nguội. Cho phần siro đường, dưa hấu, nước cốt chanh, rượu tequila vào máy xay sinh tố và xay nhuyễn hỗn hợp.

Đổ hỗn hợp dưa hấu đã xay vào hộp thủy tinh, đậy kín nắp, cho vào ngăn đá tủ lạnh khoảng 6 giờ đến khi đông lại. Cứ khoảng 30 phút, lấy kem ra, dùng nĩa hoặc muỗng đảo đều, cho lại vào tủ lạnh. Làm như vậy khoảng 4-5 lần là có ngay món kem đá bào thơm ngon.
